The purpose of this activity is to create a community amongst clients, a space where clients can come together and connect through listing to a podcast. During the podcast experience, clients can share ideas, laughs and a sense of belonging in a non-judgmental, easy-going environment.
Podcasts are becoming more and more popular every day and cover an unimaginable number of topics, some of which include: health, science, technology, food, politics, comedy, music and the list keeps going.
Podcasts started small - it was a word you might have heard every now and again. Now, podcasts have become a way of life. There are many people who will listen to a podcast on their way to work, on the train, when they’re doing the housework, even before going to bed. There is something about listening to podcasts that connects you to the world around you and even beyond (that’s right, there are podcasts about space too!) A good podcast can even spark an interest inside you that you had no idea existed.
In this activity the facilitator will become familiar with clients’ interests then procure a number of credible and highly rated podcasts that align with those interests. Clients will take turns each week choosing these podcasts and listen to them together in a group setting over zoom. After each activity, the facilitator will engage clients in a conversation about their thoughts of the podcast, how it made them feel and anything else that naturally comes up in conversation.
For listening purposes, a pair of good quality headphones are recommended for this activity as well as a supportive chair for a better overall experience.
The cost of Beyond Vision’s Interactive Zoom groups range, depending on how many participants are involved. For example if there are
4 participants the cost will be $15 per hour
3 participants it will be $20 an hour
2 participants it will be $30 an hour
Individual experience it will cost $60 an hour.
Groups will be limited to 4 participants to ensure a manageable experience for everyone involved.
