Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology

The Abbey Museum is a treasure house of world history that engages people of all ages.

When you visit the museum, you will journey through the centuries from the world of prehistoric hunters and the first farmers to the bronze smiths and the rise of the Roman Empire.

There are many amazing artefacts on display from the Medieval Saxon and Norman invaders to the golden age of Europe's Renaissance.

As though travelling through time, you will arrive at the Industrial Revolution and the British Empire - and that is just Western history! You will then cross a threshold into ancient and classical worlds; who can resist a death mask from ancient Egypt or a rare armoured shoe from Olympia, Greece or a Tang sculpture of a lute player from China?

Outing Description

First we will have morning tea at the Gloria Jean's Caboolture Drive Thru café. Although Gloria Jean’s Caboolture is a drive thru café, rest assured, there will be adequate seating available.

After morning tea, we make our way to the Abbey Museum for a fascinating guided tour through history.

Then it’s time for lunch. Lunch will be at Beefy's Pies in Ningi. Beefy’s Pies are legendary and are the talk of the town. At Beefy’s you will have the chance to choose from a vast selection of sweet and savoury pies; they even cater for those who are gluten free. The pies are said to be very filling so you will not walk away hungry.

After lunch we will drop you home for the conclusion of the outing.
